Quick and Dirty - The Latest
Just a quick run on the latest and I am off to chill.
After 3 wonderful, fullfilling and rewarding years at teaching guitar I am calling it quits for Saturdays. It is a temporary move, I hope to go full time in the future but for now I must get some other accomplishments behind me to make that happen. I will continue with a few students under special arrangements but the next year I will be focusing on my own music and finally getting out my own CD.
This one will be a total solo effort. I have attempted this in the past only to fall out and not finish. I am confident that is past. I am ready and have the tools needed to complete it. Over the last couple of years I think I have pulled together what is needed mentally, spiritually and emotionally so I am pulling the trigger. I am ready to play. I am giving the next year to the effort. I will focus the first few months on learning my recording tools and setting draft compositions. Logic Pro 7 and Reason will be the tools. My biggest struggle in the past doing it solo has been laying down decent rhythm and bass patterns. Thanks to Reason that issue will be behind me.
My mind is filled with a lot of good music. Its pulling the sound out that will be the challenge as opposed to having the ideas. The stuff I am hearing is pretty close to alot of the Neal Schon solo work. That is what is naturally in me. If you are interested in that sound it is here > TIMELESS MOTION
But you have to have ITUNES installed to get to it.
Anyway the weight loss continues. Doing really well. Ahead of schedule for 210 by end of March. Going to get the scuba diving stuff lined up to get certified so I can volunteer at the Newport Aquarium next year. My playing at Jouney is getting better. I am playing in a new style and am starting to get a groove on finding what fits much quicker.
