Progress

I am getting pretty excited about progress lately. I am beginning work with some other guitarists on a complilation CD. There will be a cut but I am confident I will make it.

Also progress on my CD. I have just pulled in 14 songs/drafts to begin heavily working and fine tuning the compositions. I am pretty happy about it. There are NO distractions to this project. I am doing it alone!!!! That is awesome. One of them which I call Autumn Blue is targeted for the compilation. My mentor has suggested I record the CD twice.....once and then start again from scratch. That being to get a much better fine tuned sound for my first disc. I will gladly follow that process.

My speed chops are getting stronger too. I am raising the numbers on both my alternate and directional picking, In a few months I will be getting close to my record speed yet at a more comfortable relaxed position in my hands and arms. My record speed is based off my playing in 1989 where I was practicing 6-10 hours a day at Guitar School. I am only logging about 30-60 minutes a day tops just of speed practice. The key is consistency. I intentionally only do a little so I can come back the next day not burnt out. It is working so far. Before it was push until I was burnt, get sick of it and quit and get back and try again.....

Anyway I leave with some shredders....some day..minus the stupid outfits and hair....

Website Shuffle

Some pretty cool things have been moving lately. I have been working to get my personal site launched. It is a Flash site and its looking pretty nice. It will house my articles, recordings, updates etc. Basically it will become my online home over the next few years to connect me for teaching opportunities and other things. I have a lot of work to do there. I need to finish a CD which I am working on. Hopefully by end of year.

GuitarPsycho will be closed up and totally redesigned to be a center for online correspondence. That will take at least a year and most likely 2-3 years to get up to speed. It will be closed to the public and for paid students only. That should happen in the next month or so when the personal site launches.

One cool development lately is I have a growing group of guitarists writers who will be contributing articles for another site I will be managing. This is going to be nice because with all of us writing regularly we will be able to have a good site with lots of regular content. I tried to do that on my own.....it did not work....it was just too much. So now I am collecting people who will commit to monthly bi monthly articles.....alll guitarists are motivated professionally and many are teachers. The drive behind all this is to create a place for us all to push our own products as they are developed....many of them already have various products. This will be an additional place for them and myself. I learned a lot from GuitarPsycho about traffic and such as undeveloped it was. Having numbers of people pumping out content will be great for all of us.

Pill Poppin

Yeah thats right. I popped some major pills this week. I took a bunch of chill pills!!!

In attempt at actually regaining some life back I spent a whole weekend doing absolutely zero.

No teaching, no playing, no study, no practicing. Just nothing at all.

Actually it was a little scary how much the time off did for me. Makes me realize I need to make some serious changes.

Anyway my mother came into town this week. I did have some time with her. Julia and I took her up to Jeffersonville to knock out some shopping we needed to do. And she stayed the night at Julia's.
